What is DI-SAC cable?
At a glance
A heavily armoured, double-insulated fibre cable tough enough to lay on the ground without troughing.
Why: It lets fibre go along lines with no existing cable route, where building troughing would cost too much. It has its own rules for anchoring, crossings and sheath gaps.
Where: Lines without a cable route. It is treated as a form of cable route in the survey, with care at bridges, crossings, access points and where it meets troughed routes.
