Design templates
Free Visio templates for rail telecoms design, made by Opstel. Start a drawing from a ready frame instead of a blank page.
SLD template
One Visio file, two pages:
- SLD template: blank A3 landscape frame split into the two SLD parts (cable schematic on top, trackside detail below), with revision history, title block (drawn / checked / approved with names and dates), legend box, notes box, mileage row and Up/Down running lines, ready for your route.
- Worked example: a fictional Node A – Node B 432F fibre route. Schematic: nodes, joints, spliceless joint, cable IDs, fibre counts, section lengths and the 48F spur with its sheath gap to an access node. Trackside: running lines, the troughing route and side, joint positions, the spur across the track via UTXs to the REB, bridges, signal and SPT, VAP and PAP at their mileages.
All the shapes from the Opstel SLD pack are built in (Document Stencil), so you can keep drawing straight away.
Visio .vsdx · Visio 2013 and later · The example route, names and mileages are made up. Replace the title block with your client's and follow your project's legend.
