What is a core node?
At a glance
A main node on the FTN/FTNx network where transmission rings meet. FTNx core nodes house the DWDM equipment.
Why: Core nodes carry the backbone, so they need diverse cable entries and resilient routing.
Where: At key sites on the network, with diverse cabling. Inserting a new one into an existing cable has its own rules.
